Okay, try the notebook. Then maybe examine the strange shape. I wouldn't recommend moving further just yet... Maybe leave this area and inspect the church on the 1st floor. Maddy Madpants didn't leave the key to the 3rd floor in the keyhole, did he?

Check out the shape. Maybe try using your knife or spoon to uncover a bit of it. Preferably, stick your knife into one of the edges to check if it's a door.
