Artist's Comments
Two witches are fighting high in the sky. The left one is on a giant eagle with a scythe and casts some icy spells. The right one is on a demon and makes everything disappear behind her.
I have picked the posture of the eagle in an artbook full of birds that I found in China. The basic posture of the demon comes from a manga (Yami no matsuei) but I have changed it and it is barely recognizable now. This is an old painting. I fact it was my first canvas painting ever. It took me a while to do it. It was started in 2007 and stood on my easel for months. Each time I was working on it, I was discouraged because it was a very big painting and every single detail took a large amount of time. I spend an entire hour on the eagle head. So sometimes I wasn't working on it during weeks. I finally finished it in June 2008. I have slightly improved it today, therefore I post it here now. A2, acrylic on canvas |
