N is for 'Neverwhere'

Journal Entry: Thu Mar 3, 2011, 4:59 AM
Today's letter is N! For Neverwhere!

A great book by Neil Gaiman.
There’s a surprising amount of fanart about that book – it’s nice to see how people can see the same characters differently.

Absolutely! I especially liked the way it plays with the names of the subway stations.

Is this that fantasy novel based off names on the London Underground map?

I have a vague recollection of putting this on a "to read" list at one point.

OH MY GOD NEVERWHERE!!

XD Out of all the Neil Gaiman books I've read, I honestly have to say that that one's my favorite. I'm not even sure why. I just really, really like it.

But HOLY SHIT WOW I had no idea there was fanart at all, much less a LOT of it.

I not too sure to know why I love it so much either. This is the kind of book that deserves to be turn into one hell of a good movie.

I was so happy to see there was so much fanart!

I know there was a mini TV series (that I think came before the book, actually-- I guess the book was a novelization of it or something?) that was fun but I'd love to see an ACTUAL movie made of it!

It's one of my favorite books too as you can guess. I was so hooked by the story and the characters the first time I read it, I just couldn't stop :D

gah, i still need to read this book! :o It's right next on my list after I'm done with my cheap sci-fi. All fanart for Gaiman's stories is wonderfully varied and yet, strangely similar (See also The Graveyard Book).

Indeed! I must admit I don't like some of his books ("American gods" wasn't that good imho), but this one hooked me and I couldn't stop reading until the end.
I love every single one of the main characters AND the villains, which rarely happens to me. One of my favorite books of all time.
If only it could be made into a movie. I mean, a good movie.

Alors...
