I've just discovered something about me by accident. I have something called "synesthesia".
It's not something bad, fortunately, it's just... I thought everyone was like that, and I had no idea it was some sort of neurological condition.
Allow me to explain. As far as I remember, every time I thought about abstract concepts like numbers, calendars, etc, I've always envisioned them with a shape and a shade of grey and I couldn't help it. And music has colors. Some sensations have colors, too.
For example, Friday is white and smaller than Saturday, which is light-grey. So today is a small white rectangular day, in a light-grey month.
I'm listening to the song
Glosoli by Sigur Ros. It begins white, then becomes yellow, then ends up being orange and warm.
See what I mean? I can't even help it. That's the way things are, and that's a good thing I think, because abstract things are never
that abstract. Up to this day I thought it was the same for everyone.

It feels really strange to discover that something you thought common isn't. But you know what's the weirdest thing for me? Well, I have yet to figure out HOW CAN MOST PEOPLE NOT SEE SHAPES AND COLORS when they think about abstract concepts, because it seems so natural to me.

Anecdote : hier j'ai voulu lire le nouveau chapitre, j'ai vu qu'il n'y en avait pas, et à cet instant précis, le papercraft de Grell que j'ai sur mon bureau s'est vautré face contre terre
Donc ben, Grell, un dieu de la mort... Logique!

J'avais une amie un peu comme ça, sauf que je crois qu'elle ne savait pas que c'était un don: elle s'énervait que je ne soit pas "comme elle" et que je ne comprenne pas son truc des "jours" et des chiffres. A l'époque, je ne savais pas que la synesthésie existait, mais maintenant, je trouve que c'est génial
I have the personification one. Now I know I'm not mad or making it up or... !! I did this for a couple of friends recently because they couldn't believe me when I said that I know their personalities by their colours. My wow.

Par contre, je trouve ça bizarre... je crois que tout le monde fais ça plus ou moins automatiquement avec ce qui les entoure. C'est juste qu'il faut que la situation l'impose. :] (et pour certains, comme toi, ça devient une nécessité inconsciente, dans le même ordre d'idée que les superstitions ressenties de façon sensorielle)
