My mother has a disease and we don't even know what it is yet.
Her skin is covered with red, strange, slightly
concave plaques.

She had that since she quit her work last monday (she has a new, less stressful job now) and she only told me yesterday because she didn't want me to "worry about that". Well thanks Mom, I'm not worried at all now.
We are waiting for the results of the analysis - the doctor says it could be a lot of things, from nothing (caused by stress because of her previous work) to systemic lupus. And I hope it's not MS. And the lupus part would be funny if we were playing in
Dr. House but sadly, we aren't.
I'm in an awful mood right now and I want to kick walls and break stuff.

I wouldn't worry to much about it being MS. A family friend of mine was diagnosed with MS four years ago, and they found out because his motor functions went a little haywire.
I wish I was a doctor who knew about these things. :/
I'm not an expert, but as far as I know multiple sclerosis doesn't usually show up as a rash. Lupus does indeed frequently present as a number of different rashes, usually worsening with sun exposure - but in your mother's favour, it usually presents earlier. As your doctor said, it could also be stress-induced.
Apparemment, on aura le fin mot de cette histoire vendredi.
